Double Violation

Two visits with the stirrups today. I kid you not! It just worked out that way.

I had a saline infused sonogram with the R.E. The nurses and desk people were all, "heyyyyy, how's it goin' PJ? Good to see ya!" High fives ensued, invitations for dinner, weddings, bar mitzvahs, etc...

Am a permanent fixture--like task lighting.

Got a call from said desk person later that was all like, "by the way, I'm pretty sure your supercrappy insurance won't cover that, and it was around $450. I said, submit it anyway and I will be robbing a bank, thank you". She thinks once I start treatments, that diagnostic stuff isn't covered anymore. Total crap insurance. Anthem. Healthkeepers. Just so ya know. :)

And then I had my annual pap, conveniently located waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy across town. Intern watching and all. Listening to my sob story. Naive GYN is still optimistic. Bless her heart. :)

It wasn't much of a big deal, except that I am pissed about the insurance thing. But you knew I'd have to post about two lady business violations in one day! That's just something an IF blogger is obligated to do.

I got the consent forms for the IVF. The nurse called in the scripts for Cipro and metrogel (GOO). Ball is rolling...

I started to read this article in the Resolve magazine at the RE about "knowing when enough is enough" and I simply couldn't finish it. It dug deep. So did the stuff about adoption. I'm not ready to quit. I just can't accept that.

You are gaining much more admiration in my book. Twice in one day- just wow.

I identified with this entire post. To familiar with the receptionists, having to tell my sob story. I spent so much time trying to figure out if I would know when enough is enough. I never got to a point where I could realistically consider it but I would think your heart will let you know. I just hope you don't have to find out.

Oh yeah. I knew I was a TTC veteran with the receptionists, nurses, and all the doctors knew me by name. And TWO bouts in the stirrups in one day?! Add the insurance crap and you've got an "Ugh" kind of a day.

I think my insurance has flagged me, BTW. Meds that were previously approved without issue now have to get prior authorization. It's exactly what a woman doesn't need when she's trying to gear up for another cycle.

I can empathize on that stuff, PJ. I'm sorry it sucks so much and I hope it gets better.

Ugh...twice!? I remember when I finally got pregnant and I was going to have the first u/s (vaginal of course), my S-I-L called Alex and said, "you might want to tell Jill that at your first u/s (as a pregnant woman), they use this wand that they put up your vagina and it can really hurt." Alex cut her off and said, "sis, they've been sticking that wand up her on a weekly basis for 2 years now." People have no clue what infertiles go through! We're always spreading our legs for some doc to violate us in some form or fashion. Bless your heart, twice in one day.

Don't give up, girl. I'm trusting God to give you that sweet baby that your heart desires.

((hugs))

Twice in one day is more than one should have to endure and I've gotten that same line about once I started treatment diagnostics not being covered. Got so mad I cried at the billing lady (this was after a hysteroscopy where the freaking idiot RE --I have a new one now, thankyouverymuch--said we should proceed to treatment even though he had just identified a uterine polyp, and his idiot assistant told me to get dressed without providing me with anything to clean up the excess saline with and when I asked for a paper towel, put a piece of plastic on the floor so the saline could drip down my legs onto the floor apparently! Not a good IF treatment day!) Anywho, the insurance DID cover the procedure. Crossing fingers yours will be covered as well!
I say a big glass of wine is in order even today!

Crossing fingers this is YOUR cycle so we can read your pg blog instead!!

I think it's high IF treason NOT to report a double date like that. Wow.

Can't the RE be smart and code it so it's for something else than mere diagnostics? Like, oh, haven't you had some heavy period or something? My RE's office managed to get all sorts of stuff covered that my also crap insurance would have refused if marked with the code for the dreaded scarlet I.

Glad, however, that the ball is rolling. I'm cheering for you, PJ.

I don't know when "enough will be enough" for me but I suspect money will be the deciding factor more than an actual desire on my part to stop.

Double the pleasure!
Double the fun!

Seriously about the suck ass insurance...you might want to talk to the billing lady. I had no fertility coverage, but when the billing chick coded the diagnostic testing appropriately (even during treatment cycles) they were covered. Tricky tricksters those ICD9/CPT codes...

Enough is enough - that is so deeply personal for all of us. Glad to hear that a new cycle is imminent.

Sorry for the stirrups 2x in one day.

Wow. Twice in one day sucks hard. Our insurance no longer covers even diagnostics, either.

It was my 4th fresh, my 5th transfer that finally worked for us. Hoping for you.

Wow, that's a lot of violation for one day. Twice in stirrups, once by an insurance company. Blech. Hope you are recovering nicely!
